Lord prey tell, LORDE IS *NOT* ON HEROIN

Is Lorde on heroin??

The spelling of her album is HEROINE. Look it up, I cannot be bothered. Ah hell, yes I can. Here it is on WIKI for you.

previous post about Lorde… | Last post ever about Lorde

Just to be clear, here is HEROIN –

And here is HEROINE –

(hera sucking Haracles as an infant as it happens)

I can tell you exactly how to make Heroin, it is a good skill to have. Somewhat useless on your CV for your boring office job, but may be somewhat practical for use in the music industry.  Don’t tell EMI or UNIVERSAL etc, but some of their best artists are complete druggies. Shhhhh. Don’t tell anyone.

LORDE is not on smack. To the best of my knowledge. I can almost guarantee this. When living at home on the North Shore of Auckland she lives with her Mum, Sonja. At least I think that is her Mum... She is only fifteen.

Although neither of these things mean that you cannot have a heroin habit, I would suggest that her Mum, being a poet and somewhat wise to the ways of the world, would keep a lid on the drug dependant nature of her offspring.

PROBLEMS WITH THE WORLD

There are some. Problems with the world.

No one can work out what to do about addictions, drugs and laws. The problem is not really the drugs, the addictions or the laws.

The problem is society.

For years people have argued “if it wasn’t for the illegal way I have to go and get drugs, if I could just go and buy them like smokes or beer, there wouldn’t be a problem...”

And, they are pretty much correct. The “war on drugs” is a farce. It makes criminals out of you and me for nothing worthwhile in the slightest.

Whilst I do not advocate everyone being on heroin, I would strongly recommend this over everyone being on beer and ciggies.

The problem is being disassociated from your parents, becoming a romantic outlaw. Being part of a crew. The whole teenage rebellion thing should be sent off to a countryside estate and taught to go fishing, hunting and painting nice water colours of birds. Instead, they are stuck in cities or small towns with fast dangerous cars and beer.

University lecturers claim “the top 10% go to university.

I laugh at them, straight to their faces. The top 10% are not in university. Maybe 10% of the top 10% are in university. The other 90% of the top 10% are on the streets, using drugs or working jobs at a young age. “The top ten percent” who go to university are just those privileged enough to do so. They are not thick, sure. But they definitely are NOT the top 10% either.

The top 10% are doing things like making music at age 15 and being SMART ENOUGH TO TURN DOWN KATIE PERRY for a support gig on a world tour.

Would you really want to be known as “that chick who supported Katie Perry“..?

No? Me neither.

I would much prefer to be known as the chick does those songs that Katie Perry covers badly.

And, just personally, once I became a big star  I could use heroin without fear of police and dealing with low life scum from seven in the morning until midnight.

Cool. Happy.

No worries at all.

Would you want to be known as “that chick who could have had it all but dropped out and is now living on the streets with a glue, gin and crack habit”?

No?

Be bloody careful Lorde. Remember you are really Ella Yelich-O’Connor, born on 7 November 1996. An Auckland teenager. ** YOU ARE NOT SOME MAD ASS ROCK STAR WITH A SMACK HABIT **.

And can everyone PLEASE stop being stupid and saying shit like her eyes are too far apart? Who the fuck cares? Can she sing? Can she write music? Is she awesome?

Give her a break. She just became the youngest number one in America. Beating Miley bloody Cyris naked Wrecking Ball crap in the process, thank fuck for that. If only Miley’s Dad kicked her ass more often.

The other young singer to do this was TIFFANY . With “I think we’re alone now” in 1987. I remember it. I was at Wellington High School at the time. Hanging with the wrong crowd. Using drugs. I was fourteen. She was sixteen. Her family broke up. She had too much pressure on her. She posed for Playboy and got on drugs.

Sorted.

On the other side of the coin, check out WILLY MOON. At a similar age he was kicked out of home in Wellington, just a few metres from me. He went to the school I live next to. He was living on the street, using drugs, ripping people off and getting into big trouble. Don’t know how he managed to get to Europe. Maybe a trust fund. Anyway, music turned his life around. Maybe briefly. I will make sure to check the homeless shelters under the local bridges regularly and keep you updated. If I spot Willy Moon or Ella curled up in a foetal position with an old flea and lice sleeping bag you will be the first to know.

I finally get home and pretty much go straight to bed. Cannot sleep. Cannot read. Cannot watch TV.

But do come up with a lot of creative ways of waging another little private war with the police. Cunning old NZFiend spends the night dreaming of screwing with the pigs. Would have preferred to have good sleep really. Today I had heaps of shit to do. And have not even put shoes on to leave the house. It is 3pm. I don’t think today will amount to anything.

If serenity is staying home in bad weather and not caring, then I have found her.

Great video by young Auckland student, Kezia Tan … Freaken good. Much better than my shit blog. 100%.

And, here is my last words on LORDE.

PLEASE DO NOT READ THE LYRICS TO “THE LOVE CLUB” or watch the video. No way. Holy shit. Poor Lorde. All the makings of a drug fiend right there. Good luck with that.

Oh shit. Whatever, here are the lyrics to LORDE’s “THE LOVE CLUB”…

I’m in a clique but I want out
It’s not the same as when I was punched
In the old days there was enough
The card games and ease with the bitter salt of blood
I was in but I want out
My mother’s love is choking me
I’m sick of words that hang above my head
What about the kid? It’s time the kid got free

I joined the club and it’s all on
There are fights for being my best friend
And the girls get their claws out
There’s something about hanging out with the wicked kids
Take the pill make it too ill
The other day I forgot my old address
I’m sitting pretty on the throne,
There’s nothing more I want
Except to be alone.

Your clothes are soaked and you don’t know where to go
So drop your chin and take yourself back home
And roll out your maps and papers
Find out your hiding places again
The only problem that I got with the club
Is how you’re severed from the people who watched you grow up
When you’re a member go on your great adventure again
They will be waiting at the end.

Be a part of the love club
Everything will glow for you
You’ll get punched for the love club
For the love club.

HOLY SHIT. Was this girl only fourteen when she wrote this? Fuck me. Lucky her Mum is a poet. Otherwise I would think she was on drugs.

Watch the guy at 1m 38s. BLOODY AWESOME MOVES! THIS GAVE ME A HUGE LAUGH. Instantly. Funny as all fuck. Hah-leer-e-us. NOFX doing “don’t call me White” in Sweeden. Crazy f’ing Swedes. ….

Pretty sure NOFX were on drugs. Probably even still are.
